U.K. jury decides that threat of global warming justifies breaking the law
U.S. Intel reports Muslim scholars justify forest fire jihad

The U.K. Independent reported last week that a jury decided the threat of global warming is so great, that Greenpeace activists were justified in causing more than £35,000 worth of damage to a coal-fired power station. And Australia’s The Age reported last week that a group of Islamic extremists are urging Muslims to deliberately light forest fires as a weapon of terror, after scholars justified chopping down and burning forests belonging to infidels. Pundits who give a shit are asking if everyone has lost their freaking minds.
“Civil society exists instead of anarchy only when rule of law is consistently maintained by the leaders and citizenry, lacking that, civilization as we know it breaks down and is replaced by bedlam and then ultimately brought under control by dictatorship or totalitarian enforcers,” said Benjamin Franklin, a strong believer in personal responsibility, democratic republics and common sense. “The world is on a path leading to chaos and disaster if people don’t wake up and start acting rationally. Dispensing with the rule of law and failing to protect private property is a major crisis.”
Not everyone agrees with everything Franklin says, but are okay with some of it. “Civil society exists instead of anarchy only when rule of law is consistently maintained by the leaders and citizenry, lacking that, civilization as we know it breaks down and is replaced by bedlam and then ultimately brought under control by dictatorship or totalitarian enforcers,” said Abad Mebad, a strong believer in Islamofascist control through charisma, community organizers and an occasional beheading. “The world is on the proper path leading to chaos and ultimate peace under the rule of Muslim theocracy and the 12th Imam. Or maybe Putin, or my cousin Ahmadinejad at first. Either way, it’ll take a little more time to break things down and put them back together the way we want. Knocking down a few buildings in New York on 9-11 was a nice step, but getting the West to dump rule of law in favor of lawlessness is a major accomplishment.”
The Independent reported that the jury at Maidstone Crown Court cleared six Greenpeace activists of criminal damage because the threat of global warming is so great that they were justified in causing more than £35,000 worth of damage to a coal-fired power station. Jurors accepted defense arguments that the six had a “lawful excuse” to damage property at Kingsnorth power station in Kent to prevent even greater damage caused by climate change. The defense of “lawful excuse” under the Criminal Damage Act 1971 allows damage to be caused to property to prevent even greater damage – such as breaking down the door of a burning house to fight a fire.
The not-guilty verdict, delivered after two days and greeted with cheers in the courtroom, raises the stakes for the most pressing issue on Britain’s green agenda and could encourage further direct action. The acquittal was the second time in a decade that the “lawful excuse” defense has been successfully used by Greenpeace activists. In 1999, 28 Greenpeace campaigners led Lord Melchett, who was director at the time, were cleared of criminal damage after trashing an experimental field of GM crops in Norfolk.
The Age reported that U.S. intelligence channels earlier this year identified a website calling on Muslims in Australia, the US, Europe and Russia to “start forest fires”, claiming “scholars have justified chopping down and burning the infidels’ forests.” The posting — which instructs jihadis to remember “forest jihad” in summer months — says fires cause economic damage and pollution, tie up security agencies and can take months to extinguish so that “this terror will haunt them for an extended period of time”.
Adam Dolnik, director of research at the University of Wollongong’s Centre for Transnational Crime Prevention in Australia, said he had observed an increase in traffic on jihadi websites calling for a simplification of terrorist attacks because the more complex operations had been failing. The internet posting by the little-known group claimed the idea of forest fires had been attributed to imprisoned Al Qaeda leader Abu Musab Al-Suri. It said Al-Suri had urged terrorists to use sulphuric acid and petrol to start forest fires. Some pundits argue that Greenpeace and Islamofascism display the best of San Francisco values and show a progressive attitude loved by American liberals.
“It’s right for sanctuary cities like San Francisco to protect illegal immigrants in defiance of federal law, and allowing Greenpeace to destroy businesses and conservative Muslims to destroy forests of people they disagree with, is also justified,” said someone channeling Nancy Pelosi, the Democrat Speaker of the House, whose sat vibrating with excitement at the thought of an Obama Administration where the Democrats control both Houses of Congress plus the White House, finally giving them dominate power over the United States. “Civil disobedience is critical to real change, and the Obama campaign represents an expert community activist-organizer pressing for change, new age socialism and income redistribution. We don’t need defense systems, we can let the Islamofascists do what they want and they’ll leave us alone for a while. Sure they’ll probably get a bomb and bring us to our knees some day, but I’ll have died by then, or fled to an island off the coast of Mexico with my maid. It’s nothing to worry about. We can have peace in our time if we just ignore reality, starting by dispensing with the rule of law entirely. It’s overrated anyway; all we really need is the IRS to keep the government funded and my paycheck coming.”
In other news, The Poughkeepsie Journal reported last week that a convicted sex offender who violated the terms of a probationary sentence less than an hour after he left the courtroom in July was sent to state prison. Walter Freeman, 72, of Lent Street, City of Poughkeepsie, acknowledged last month he had violated the terms of his probation by approaching two children in a bank in Poughkeepsie and offering to buy them ice cream. The incident occurred about 40 minutes after Freeman had been placed on probation. Under the terms of his probation, Freeman was prohibited from having any contact with children. Freeman was previously convicted of molesting an 11-year-old girl he didn’t know in 2006. No word on why the rule of law was applied in this instance, but progressive Democrats are eager to free prisoners jailed under silly rules like this.
